Guided Drone Munitions / Deftak

Overview

Deftak is a Ukrainian-Estonian developer of guided munitions that drones release from altitude. Each munition carries its own electronics, a camera and a warhead, and uses computer vision to correct its path toward the target after release, Militarnyi reported in March 2026; laser guidance is planned. The company says the munitions work without satellite navigation, stay effective under electronic warfare and have been used in combat by Ukrainian forces since early 2024. Militarnyi reported that they had been tested on multirotor drones and that codification with the Ministry of Defence was still planned. The company now lists fixed-wing drones with a wingspan of 3 m or more and heavy bombers as carriers. The European fund Darkstar invested EUR 600,000 in 2025, and the developers say the munition costs up to ten times less than traditional systems.
