VATAG / Ground Systems

Overview

Ground Systems is a Ukrainian maker of heavy unmanned ground vehicles. Its VATAG, first shown in September 2025, is a multi-purpose 8×8 platform that carries more than 2 tonnes and is designed for tasks from supplying units to direct combat. In July 2026 the company completed trials of the 8×8 configuration, during which it reached 42 km/h. VATAG has a hybrid powertrain that can also power other military equipment, and it can unload cargo autonomously, navigate using machine vision, LiDAR and other sensors, drive in convoy mode and adapt its missions to the environment. For fire support it can carry a 25 mm remote weapon station developed by Ground Systems. Since its debut the control, communications, modular architecture and autonomy have all been upgraded; for security reasons the company does not disclose the price or some of the specifications.
