Zmiy / Rovertech
Overview
Rovertech builds the Zmiy (“dragon”) family of armoured ground robots. The original Zmiy is a remote-controlled mine flail of about a tonne that detonates anti-personnel and anti-tank mines. Ukraine’s mine-action portal reported in September 2024 that it had passed tests and received a certificate of conformity, clearing up to 2.5 hectares a day, and the Kyiv Post later called it the first mine-clearing robot fielded in the war. The same chassis now also serves as a logistics and evacuation robot and, with partner modules, as a strike platform. The company says it delivered more than 600 robots in 2025 and has fielded about 800 in total. It is privately funded, mostly with the founders’ own money.
