SHOOM-20 / First Parsec
Overview
First Parsec is a small aerospace startup from Lviv. It began by designing reusable space rockets and now also builds pulse jet engines and jet-powered drones. Its SHOOM-20 is a pulse jet engine with 20 kg of thrust; pulse jets need no compressor or turbine. Militarnyi reported in January 2026 that the company had run the engine continuously for 17 minutes. It is aiming for two hours, which the company says would give a drone a range of about 800 km. In February 2026 First Parsec announced its first contract, for a batch of SHOOM-20 engines to flight-test a drone; the customer was not named. The company quotes $750 per engine, or $500 for large orders, and says it can make up to 400 a month. Defender Media reports two Brave1 grants.
