Overview
Ukrainian Armor is a Kyiv defense manufacturer best known for armoured vehicles, which also builds the Protector heavy unmanned ground vehicle. Roughly the size of a Humvee, Protector is a remotely driven 4×4 for carrying supplies to the front and evacuating the wounded. The version supplied to Ukraine’s National Guard carries up to 1,480 kg, up from 700 kg in earlier versions, and can tow a trailer of up to 4 t, according to the company. Earlier reports describe a 190 hp diesel engine, control at up to 12 km and level 1 protection under NATO’s STANAG 4569 standard. In August 2026 the first 10 of 100 Protectors ordered for the National Guard with German government funding were delivered and shared among four units, Militarnyi reported. The Defense Post noted a listed price of nearly UAH 3.9 million (about $87,800) on Ukraine’s online defense marketplace.
