Overview

UGV Robotics is a Ukrainian defense-tech company whose best-known product is Khyzhak (“predator”), a light remote-controlled combat module that detects, tracks and shoots at small drones. First shown in November 2024, it carries a 7.62 mm machine gun of Soviet or NATO standard, rotates 360 degrees and stabilises its fire while moving. Thermal cameras, a laser rangefinder and a ballistic computer help it aim, and a human operator authorises every shot. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence approved it for service in July 2025, and in August 2026 it was codified together with a ground robot as one combat system. The company says a naval version was tested aboard a NATO frigate in July 2026; French media reported that the ship belonged to the French Navy. Footage published by a Ukrainian charity foundation shows a helicopter-mounted version hitting enemy drones.
