SHADOX / Black Forest Systems
Overview
Black Forest Systems is a Ukrainian-Estonian drone developer founded in 2024. Its flagship, SHADOX, is a small reconnaissance and strike drone for infantry and special-operations units. CEO Oleksandr Davydenko says the idea came from special-operations troops and foreign volunteer soldiers who asked for a more compact version of the company’s earlier, larger system. The company says the drone weighs 800 g, carries a 330 g warhead, holds a stable link at about 1 km and reached 1.5–2 km in tests. It pairs with its remote in about 25 seconds and stabilises itself, so operators need no FPV piloting skills. In March 2026 the company raised USD 400,000 from the Swedish funds Front Ventures and Hede Capital Partners to finish engineering and prepare production. It says a first batch of 50 drones goes to the units involved, and it targets 300–500 drones a month.
