Buntar-3 / Buntar Aerospace

Overview

Buntar Aerospace is a Ukrainian maker of reconnaissance drones and mission software, founded in summer 2023 by Ivan Kaunov, Kateryna Bezsudna and Bohdan Sas. Its Buntar-3, unveiled in May 2025, is an electric drone that takes off vertically, flies for 3.5 to 4 hours, covers an 80 km tactical range and can spot targets up to 15 km away, according to the company. It is built to navigate without satellite signals, which are jammed constantly at the front. The company’s Copilot software plans missions around battery life, weather and link quality, so that units can keep watch over an area without gaps. The Recursive reports that both products are used by front-line units across Ukraine. In March 2026 Axon Enterprise led a $10.4 million round in the company, and in October 2026 it raised $16 million more in a round led by Freedom Fund, bringing its total funding to $30 million.
